Use Viral Folder from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
What it is
Viral Folder has an MCP server: an address your AI assistant connects to so it can work in your account. Ask in plain words, “research sleep routines on TikTok and give me five ideas for my lamp brand”, and the assistant runs the search, reads what the breakouts share, scores ideas against them and saves the ones you keep.
It is part of the Plus and Pro plans. The address is:
https://viralfolder.com/mcpConnect it
The steps are the same everywhere: give the assistant the address, sign in to Viral Folder when a browser window opens, and press Allow.
- Claude, on the web and the desktop app. Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste the address and press Connect.
- ChatGPT. Settings → Apps & Connectors, turn on developer mode, then create a connector with the address.
- Cursor. Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server, or add this to
.cursor/mcp.json:{ "mcpServers": { "viral-folder": { "url": "https://viralfolder.com/mcp" } } } - Claude Code. Run this, then type
/mcpto sign in:claude mcp add --transport http viral-folder https://viralfolder.com/mcp
- Anything else that speaks MCP. It is a remote server over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in, so the address is all it needs.
What the assistant can do
- Research a niche. Search a keyword on TikTok, Instagram or X and read what the breakouts have in common: hooks, formats, length and the top posts.
- Work on ideas. Suggest ideas from a search, score yours against its breakouts, improve a weak one and save the keepers.
- Keep a project. Create a project for a brand, fill in its brief, and file research and ideas in it so they fit the brief.
- Study a post. Explain why one post worked, and group what its comments ask for.
- Study accounts. Find the TikTok creators who rank for a niche, measure one account, and pull its best posts into a search.
It cannot see your password, change your plan or billing, or delete anything.
What uses a search
The assistant spends the same searches you do, from the same monthly allowance.
- One search each: researching a keyword, finding accounts in a niche, measuring an account, pulling an account’s top posts, and reading a post’s comments for the first time.
- No search: reading research you already have, suggesting, scoring, improving and saving ideas, explaining a post, and everything to do with projects.
- No search the second time: the same niche, account or pull again within a day reuses the first result.
An assistant can run several searches for one request. Say how many you are happy to spend, or ask it to check what is left first.
Things to ask
- Research “meal prep” on TikTok and tell me what the breakouts have in common.
- Score these three hooks against that research and improve the weakest.
- Who is winning “home workouts” on TikTok right now? Pull the top five posts from the best account.
- Create a project for my brand from this description, then save the two best ideas to it.
Scores measure how well an idea fits the research. They are not a prediction of views.
Disconnect
Open Settings, find AI assistants, and press Disconnect next to the assistant. It loses access at once. You can also remove the connector inside the assistant.
If something goes wrong
- “Part of the Plus and Pro plans.” The account is on Free. Upgrade, then ask again. There is no need to reconnect.
- “Still running.” A search takes 15 to 35 seconds, and measuring accounts a minute or two. The assistant asks again, and nothing is charged twice.
- “You have used all your searches.” Saved research still opens. New searches wait until your allowance refills or you move to a bigger plan.
